Built Around Better Care, Not Bigger Numbers
EMDR Counseling Collective began with a question:
What if therapists could maintain the independence that allows them to do their best work without losing the connection and professional support that help them continue growing? After more than 25 years working in behavioral health, our founder, Andrea White, LPC, had worked alongside many talented, dedicated clinicians. She also understood how isolating private practice could become.
Working independently offers therapists the freedom to develop their specialties, make thoughtful clinical decisions, and shape their practices around the people they serve but it can also mean fewer opportunities to exchange ideas, seek consultation, and build meaningful professional relationships.
Larger practices may offer that connection, but they don't always provide the same degree of independence or flexibility.
Andi believed there could be another way.
The EMDR Counseling Collective was created to bring together independent therapists who value both clinical autonomy and professional connection. Each clinician owns and operates their own practice, bringing their individual expertise, experience, and approach to a community grounded in collaboration, continued learning, and respect for the therapeutic relationship.
We aren't trying to make every therapist practice the same way. We believe the differences between clinicians are part of what makes the Collective valuable.
Why This Matters for Clients
Finding the right therapist involves more than choosing someone with the right credentials. Their experience, areas of specialization, therapeutic approach, and ability to connect with you all matter.
The Collective brings together clinicians with complementary specialties, giving you opportunities to explore care that fits your particular needs.
Specialized Experience
Our clinicians bring different areas of clinical expertise and advanced training to their work. Rather than expecting every therapist to treat every concern, we recognize the value of finding someone with experience relevant to what you're facing.
Professional Connection
Although our clinicians practice independently, they have opportunities to connect with trusted colleagues, exchange professional knowledge, and seek consultation when appropriate. Client privacy and confidentiality remain essential to those relationships.
Continued Growth
Clinical experience matters, but so does staying curious. We value ongoing education, consultation, and thoughtful consideration of emerging research and treatment approaches.
A More Personal Fit
The relationship you develop with your therapist is an important part of treatment. Our goal is to help you explore your options and connect with a clinician whose experience, approach, and personality feel right for you.
A Different Kind of Therapy Community
EMDR Counseling Collective is not a traditional group practice or a corporate therapy organization. It's a professional community of independently practicing therapists who have chosen to stay connected while maintaining responsibility for their own clinical work and businesses.
Each clinician makes their own treatment decisions, establishes their own practice policies, and maintains their own professional responsibilities. What connects us is a shared interest in providing thoughtful, specialized care and continuing to grow as clinicians.
We believe therapists do some of their best work when they have the freedom to practice authentically, the experience to recognize when a different approach may be needed, and trusted colleagues they can turn to for professional support.
Our goal isn't to become the largest therapy organization.
It's to build a community where experienced clinicians can remain independent without having to work in isolation—and where clients have more opportunities to find care that genuinely fits.
