Client information - Getting Started

Starting therapy involves more than finding the right therapist. You may have questions about scheduling, costs, privacy, or what to expect from your first appointment. We've brought the essential information together here so you can find what you need.

Each clinician within EMDR Counseling Collective operates an independent practice, with their own scheduling, availability, and practice policies. Once you've found a therapist who feels like a good fit, you can reach out to discuss availability and next steps. Your clinician will guide you through scheduling, completing intake paperwork, and preparing for your first appointment.

Meet Our Clinicians

Rates & Insurance

We believe you should understand the financial side of therapy before committing to treatment. Session fees vary by clinician, appointment length, and service. Insurance participation and out-of-network reimbursement options also vary by provider. Some clinicians offer superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Scheduling & Cancellation Policies

We understand that life happens and plans sometimes change. Because appointment times are reserved specifically for you, each clinician has policies regarding cancellations, rescheduling, missed appointments, and payment. Please review your clinician's policies before scheduling. You'll also receive information about applicable policies as part of your intake paperwork.

Good Faith Estimates

If you're uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of your expected therapy costs under the No Surprises Act. This estimate helps you plan for care and understand your rights, including the ability to dispute certain unexpected charges.

Your Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy is an important part of the therapeutic relationship. Our clinicians are committed to protecting your personal and health information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and professional standards. Our privacy practices explain how your information may be used or disclosed, your rights regarding your records, and how to raise concerns about privacy.

Communication Between Sessions

We want you to know what to expect when communicating with your clinician outside of scheduled appointments. Electronic messaging can be convenient, but it has limitations related to privacy, response times, and emergencies. Our messaging terms explain how electronic communication is used and what you should know before contacting your clinician by text or other electronic means.
