You Don't Have to Tone Yourself Down Here

If you've ever been told you're "too much," you've probably learned to edit yourself.  Maybe you've become the one who keeps the peace, stays quiet, takes care of everyone else, or tries not to let people see how deeply you feel. Over time, that can leave you feeling disconnected—not just from other people, but from yourself.

I don't believe your emotions are problems to solve. I see them as valuable information. They can point us toward what matters, what hurts, what needs attention, and what is asking to heal.

My role isn't to tell you who you should become. It's to help you understand yourself more fully so you can live, connect, and relate to others in ways that feel genuine and sustainable.

Healing Happens in Relationship

While I offer individual therapy, group therapy is where I feel most at home as a clinician.

I've seen many people spend years understanding their patterns intellectually yet still feel stuck. Insight is important, but lasting change often happens when we have the opportunity to experience ourselves differently in relationship with others.

That's what draws me to process groups.

In a supportive therapy group, you don't just talk about trust, boundaries, vulnerability, or connection—you begin practicing them in real time. You discover you're not the only person carrying what you carry, and that realization alone can be incredibly healing.

One of my favorite moments is watching someone realize they no longer have to hide parts of themselves to feel accepted. That's when healing begins to move from something we understand intellectually to something we truly experience.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who feel deeply, think deeply, and are looking for more than symptom relief. Together, we'll work toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and lasting change.

My practice includes support for:

  • Trauma and complex trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Caregiver stress and compassion fatigue
  • Religious trauma and spiritual transitions
  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
  • Life transitions and identity changes
  • Relationship challenges and family dynamics
  • Substance use and recovery

Whether you're feeling disconnected from yourself, struggling in relationships, navigating a significant life change, or simply longing for a place where you don't have to pretend, therapy can help you reconnect with what matters most.

My Approach

My path to becoming a therapist has always been centered on understanding people and the relationships that shape us.

I began my career in social work, supporting individuals through life's challenges and developing a deep appreciation for the role relationships play in healing. Later, I became a registered nurse, expanding my understanding of how emotional and physical health are deeply interconnected.

Those experiences continue to shape how I approach therapy today—with curiosity, compassion, and a whole-person perspective.

My work is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that emotions are meaningful sources of information—not problems to eliminate. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" we'll explore what your experiences have taught you, the patterns that helped you survive, and how those patterns may no longer be serving you.

I don't believe therapy is about becoming someone different. I believe it's about understanding yourself more fully, trusting your emotions, and discovering new ways of relating that feel more authentic to who you already are.

The Power of Process Groups

As the EMDR Counseling Collective's process group therapist, I create groups that offer more than education or coping skills. They provide opportunities to experience something different.

Process groups become places where people practice healthy boundaries, give and receive honest feedback, learn to trust themselves, and discover they aren't alone. Over time, those new experiences begin to reshape old patterns in ways that insight alone often cannot.

Whether you're navigating grief, caregiver fatigue, trauma, religious deconstruction, or a major life transition, group therapy offers a unique opportunity to grow through authentic connection with others who understand.

If you've been curious about therapy groups but aren't sure whether they're right for you, I'd be happy to help you explore whether they're a good fit.

Is Traci a Good Fit for You?

You may find we're a good fit if you:

  • Have spent much of your life feeling like you're "too much," "too sensitive," or somehow different from those around you.
  • Understand your patterns intellectually but still find yourself repeating them.
  • Want more than coping strategies—you want meaningful, lasting change.
  • Appreciate a collaborative therapist who values curiosity over judgment.
  • Feel ready to explore your emotions rather than push them aside.
  • Are interested in experiencing healing through authentic relationships, whether in individual therapy or a process group.

Whether we work together one-on-one or in a group, my goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move through life with greater authenticity, confidence, and self-compassion.
